There is no reliable tick bite vaccine.
Clarification of the True Dangers of Lyme Disease
With a courageous advertising campaign, the German Lyme Disease and TBE Coalition are calling attention to the fact that there is no reliable tick bite vaccine and that the danger of Lyme disease is still being trivialised by doctors and politicians. “We are bringing Lyme disease out of the taboo-zone” reads the headline. Further down on the flyer: “Don't be deceived – there is no tick bite vaccine. The TBE (tick-borne encephalitis) vaccine does not protect you from Lyme disease.”
Lyme disease is most prevalent in the northern hemisphere. Every year, over 700,000 people are infected with Lyme disease in Germany. Laboratory tests are not standardised and are therefore unreliable. False diagnoses are MS (Multiple Sclerosis), depression, fibromyalgia and many more.
Most active associations and support groups are organized in BORRELIOSE und FSME BUND DEUTSCHLAND e.V. There are helpdesks all over Germany.
